VISION: ENCOURAGING KÓRIMA

Kórima is a cultural concept and community philosophy from my indigenous Rarámuri heritage that literally translated means “circle of sharing.” The foundational idea is that we are all in a position to offer our gifts, our resources, our time and our energy in service to the collective.

As a practice Kórima shows up as 1) a willingness and choice to be empowered with others rather having power over others and 2) operating from the motivation of what we can each give rather than what we can get.

Encouragement is the action of giving support, promoting confidence and expressing hope.

Encouraging kórima, as my guiding vision, represents a devotion to being in stewardship to all my relations and overcoming fear as a barrier to social progress.

My personal and professional experiences with people across all generations have shown me the human potential and impact that have expanded my spirit to embody this optimistic mantra.
